  4.     DIED. Harry Reasoner, 68, avuncular television newsman who
  5. brought a droll flavor to his reporting for CBS News, especially
  6. on 60 Minutes, which he helped launch in 1968; of
  7. cardiopulmonary arrest; in Norwalk, Conn. Starting at CBS in
  8. 1956, Reasoner wrote and reported for daily newscasts, specials
  9. and CBS Reports. Convinced he'd never get the chance to anchor
  10. the CBS Evening News while Walter Cronkite was still there,
  11. Reasoner jumped to ABC in 1970. Network chiefs angered Reasoner
  12. in 1976 when they hired Barbara Walters to be co-host of the ABC
  13. Evening News. He returned to CBS in 1978.
